Technology that works in the real world.
PhotoSecure's proprietary technology includes the scanners that interrogate and validate security marks and also capture any data encoded in the marks.
Field scanners are small portable devices, equipped with a strobe light source, a CCD image sensor, and solid-state memory for recording both the response profile of each authentic secure mark and any encoded data the mark may contain.
Lightweight and compact, the handheld scanner can be carried unobtrusively into a store and used to check items on the shelves for PhotoSecure marks. The scanner emits a flash of narrow-frequency light, then records the response. If there is no response (where one would be expected) or if that response doesn't match the profile of your product's marks, it's probable that a counterfeit has been discovered. This can be indicated immediately on the handheld scanner.
If a verified mark contains other encoded data (e.g., via barcoding), that data is recorded. The scanner's memory holds this data until it can be uploaded via the Internet to a data analysis center (run by the client company or by PhotoSecure). |
