PhotoSecure: a Photonics company.
PhotoSecure, Inc. was founded in 1998 to commercialize innovative photochemical/information technologies. Our first goal is to provide manufacturers with cost-effective and production-ready systems for protecting products and brands which are subject to counterfeiting or to unauthorized distribution. Other product lines under development apply related technologies to the detection of pathogenic bacteria in food and other substances.
Background: PhotoSecure, Inc. is one of the innovative "spin out" companies spawned at the Photonics Center of Boston University.
Opened in 1997, the Photonics Center acts as an "incubator", helping nurture start-ups that bring the scientific knowledge of university faculty members to bear on problems of industry, medicine, and society.
The Center's special focus is on the science of photonics, the technological use of light to convey, analyze, process, or extend information for practical applications. Other companies evolving in this environment are focused on medical imaging and on pressure sensing. |
